Well, as many of you may already know, Mike’s last day with the band was Sunday. This isn’t something that is sudden or a surprise. We have discussed it over the last few weeks as Mike has felt the Lord leading him to a different church which is in need of his services and gifts. He has prayed about it and came to this decision a couple of weeks ago.

Last night I met him at the church when he came to get his drums. He promised to keep in touch with us, and we hung around a talked for a little while. The church looks strange without the drums up there now.

Like when Moses left, we aren’t necessarily looking to replace Mike. This is going to make for some interesting challenges for us, because as most people know, drums are really a staple in a contemporary christian band.

We have started working with some sequencing software called Ableton Live, which we hope to start to utilize very soon on stage. We will be taking some of our music into the digital realm with this software by utilizing electronic backing tracks for instruments such as drums and multiple guitar parts as well as background effects and things of that nature. We had our first practice last night with it and the idea seems to be very promising. It turns out that a large majority of live bands in the christian genre actually use very similar software. The best example out there is The David Crowder Band, who uses Reason and Ableton live very extensively.

God is doing some really cool things right now with the band. Mike will be missed and it will never be quite the same without him, but the new direction is exciting and will also open lots possibilities musically.

Hello everyone,

All is going well, we’ve had some setbacks with schedules so the last few weeks have been rough as far as the music goes. Christie and I just got back from VA beach and had a great time.

Half of the band now is addicted to twitter. If you’ve never heard of twitter or dont understand it there is a great video at http://www.commoncraft.com/Twitter
If you feel swayed to join twitter after watching this video you can follow me, Brandon, Mike, and Sheila. Our usernames are listed on the “about us” page of the website.

Hope everyone had a good 4th.

Adam
