A long 3 days
Playing at Beulah baptist was well worth the effort, but just confirmed our need for the mobile rig. It took a good amount of time Sunday night to Break all the equipment down then set it up at Beulah, probably about 3 hours. Thankfully we had a good amount of help getting everything broke down, loaded up, and unloaded Monday night after the service, the whole process only took about 1-1/2 hours (including transport).
Last night I was at the church for about 5 hours getting everything set back up and in order, concealing cables, etc. I had some company and we played a little music while we were there, and Dad volunteered to paint the box we made for the mixer, so it probably could have went a little faster if I was in a hurry.
A lot of the problem is that we have so much loose equipment without cases which has to be unwired and wired back up, instead of everything being rack mounted and pre-wired in road cases. Thats just the way it is though. There really isnt a reasonable solution at this point. We are just gonna have to put in the work to get out there and play as much as we can. Some love offerings here and there might help with some of the equipment needs. We also need us some good trained roadies LOL.
I feel like we need to show ourselves that we ARE going to be active in the community before God blesses us with the equipment to make it more convenient. If we can keep this up when it takes this much work, we should have no problem getting out there and playing more when we have the equipment to make it easier.
Beulah Baptist, and… Christmas?

Yep, thats right… December is less than 2 months away.
We decided last night at practice that it WILL NOT sneak up on us again this year, and have already started working on christmas songs. Its funny how little we remember of these songs, because we usually only end up playing each one about 3 or 4 times a year. Anyhow, they are really awesome songs and I cant wait for December to roll around to start playing these.
Also, dont forget about our night with Beulah Baptist, this coming Monday (Oct 13th).
They are having revival next week and we are greatfull for them presenting us with an opportunity to lead worship there. Please come out to support both Beulah and Vision. Last night we picked out what we feel is going to be a good set for Monday night.
Anything else?… uh..
Oh yeah, dont forget… Weather permiting, Open Door will be having its Sunday morning service outside at a remote location on the 26th. If you need details about the location check out http://opendoorbaptistministries.com/ There should be information appearing there soon, in the mean time you can find contact information on that page to call or email and ask for directions. Its always fun to get to perform outdoors.
