About
Vision started several years ago with a dream of bringing people closer to Christ through the music we love.
We play contemporary christian songs written by artists such as Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Kutless, and Newsboys. We feel that it is important to minister through music that touches everyone, young and old.
Over the years we have went through many transformations, and adapted to different challenges. We have played with and without a drummer, with “part-time” members, and at times we incorporated saxophone, harmonica and violin with the more typical guitar/bass/keyboard/drums setup. We have had as many as 5 vocalist at a time, up to two keyboardists, and anywhere from one to three guitarists.
Currently we are taking a more technical approach with fewer members. We use Ableton Live 7 to track additional instruments which allows us to achieve sounds typically much more difficult in a live environment. This also allows us to stick to a smaller “core” group of musicians and vocalists which makes coordinating schedules easier and gives us some backup when schedules do not permit everyone to make it to a worship service.
Vision has lead worship at a few area churches during revivals and other special events, such as the US Cellular Customer appreciation day and the annual Celebrate Recovery Jamboree at Pine Valley United Methodist Church in Wilmington, NC. We lead worship every Sunday morning at Open Door Baptist Church in Shallotte, NC. We also provide the music during the Celebrate Recovery meetings on Thursday nights held at Open Door.
